Kim Dong-yeon: "My sincere congratulations to Choo Mi-ae... I will fulfill my responsibilities to ensure the success of the Lee administration"

According to Financial News, Kim Dong-yeon, who was eliminated in the main primary for Governor of Gyeonggi Province within the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK), said he humbly accepts the result and congratulated candidate Choo Mi-ae on her victory.
On the 7th, Kim wrote on his Facebook page, "To the residents of Gyeonggi Province whom I deeply respect, and to my beloved party members and colleagues, I humbly accept your decision."
Kim stated, "I, Kim Dong-yeon, fell far short in many ways. I will take this outcome as an opportunity for reflection and growth," adding, "I sincerely congratulate candidate Choo Mi-ae, and I also want to thank candidate Han Jun-ho for his hard work."
He went on, "I hope that candidate Choo Mi-ae's dedication to President Lee Jae-myung's administration and to Gyeonggi Province will shine," and emphasized, "I, Kim Dong-yeon, will adopt an even more humble attitude and a greater sense of urgency, and I will carry out all the responsibilities entrusted to me, to the very end, for the Lee Jae-myung administration, for the DPK, and for our 31 cities and counties across Gyeonggi Province."
He continued, "To all the volunteers who campaigned with me, to the supporters who cheered and encouraged us, and to my beloved party comrades, our journey is not over. For the success of the Lee Jae-myung administration, for the victory of the DPK, and for the Gyeonggi Province we love, please continue to move forward vigorously and unwaveringly."
On the same day, Han Jun-ho also wrote on his Facebook page, "I humbly accept the result," and added, "Although my race ends here, I will stay the course and continue along the path we have walked together."
Han explained, "There was only one reason I ran in the election for Governor of Gyeonggi Province: the success of President Lee Jae-myung's administration," stressing, "I will pour everything I have into ensuring that the president is recorded and remembered in history as a 'successful president.'"
He added, "I congratulate Representative Choo Mi-ae, who competed with me in this race, and I offer my sincere thanks to Governor Kim Dong-yeon."
Meanwhile, in the DPK main primary for Governor of Gyeonggi Province, held over three days from the 5th to the 7th, Representative Choo Mi-ae was confirmed as the party's candidate for Governor in the June 3 local elections.
On the 7th, So Byung-hoon, chair of the Central Election Management Committee of the Democratic Party of Korea, announced that Representative Choo had won a majority of the votes cast in the main primary held from the 5th to the 7th, and was therefore selected as the DPK candidate for Governor of Gyeonggi Province in the June 3 local elections.
The main primary was a three-way race among Representative Choo, Governor Kim, and Representative Han. In accordance with party rules, the rankings and vote shares of each candidate were not disclosed.
