[Financial News] The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rebounded to the 5,800 level in early trading on the 8th. Investor sentiment improved after the United States of America (US) and the Islamic Republic of Iran agreed to a two-week truce.
As of 9:10 a.m. that day, KOSPI was trading at 5,823.55, up 328.77 points (5.98%) from the previous session.
The index opened at 5,804.70, up 5.64% from the previous close, and has been extending its gains.
On an intraday basis, KOSPI recovered the 5,800 level for the first time in 13 sessions since the 20th.
With the sharp rise early in the session, a program buy-side trading halt (buy-side sidecar) was triggered in the KOSPI market at around 9:06 a.m., for the first time in five trading days. This marked the seventh activation of a buy-side sidecar so far this year.
