[Financial News] Kang Hoon-sik, Chief of Staff to the President of the Republic of Korea, will visit the Republic of Kazakhstan, Oman, and Saudi Arabia as Presidential Special Envoy for Strategic Economic Cooperation to secure additional supplies of crude oil and naphtha.
At a press briefing held on the 7th at Chunchugwan, the press briefing room at Cheong Wa Dae, Kang stated, "As the Presidential Special Envoy for Strategic Economic Cooperation, I will depart this evening, together with officials from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources and domestic energy companies, to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Oman, and Saudi Arabia for discussions on securing additional supplies of crude oil and naphtha."
Kang stressed, "In particular, to ensure that high-level government talks do not end as empty words, we will work closely with the companies that actually import crude oil and naphtha, and we intend to provide all necessary support until oil tankers and product carriers arrive at ports in Korea."
