According to The Financial News, BTS’s fifth studio album “Arirang” has topped the Billboard 200 for two consecutive weeks, but on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart it slipped one spot to No. 2. Even so, the group has stayed in the uppermost tier for two weeks since the release of the new track, proving popularity that matches their reputation.
In a chart preview article published on April 7 by music magazine Billboard, BTS’s new single “SWIM” ranked No. 2 on the main songs chart, the Billboard Hot 100 dated April 11. It had debuted at No. 1 on the chart dated April 4.
“SWIM” claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Global 200, Billboard Global Excl. US, and Digital Song Sales charts. After debuting at the top of each of these rankings, the song has held the summit for a second straight week.
“Body to Body,” a track from the new album “Arirang,” remained at No. 2 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. US charts, extending its strong performance. Other tracks from the album — “Hooligan” (No. 5), “Paya” (No. 6), “Normal” (No. 7), and “2.0” (No. 8) — all stayed within the top 10 on the Billboard Global Excl. US chart.
The strength of “SWIM” is also evident on charts around the world. On the YouTube Music weekly chart for March 27 to April 2, the song logged about 52.6 million plays and held the No. 1 position for a second week. It also ranked No. 3 on the singles chart of the Offizielle Deutsche Charts dated April 3 and placed No. 5 on the UK Official Singles Chart’s Official Singles Chart Top 100, remaining firmly in the upper tier.
