President Lee Jae-myung of South Korea delivers congratulatory remarks at the 2026 Korean Church Easter Joint Service held at Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul on the 5th.

According to Financial News, President Lee and his wife Kim Hye-kyung left Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul after the Easter joint service on the 5th and headed to Yunjungno Cherry Blossom Road, where they made a surprise appearance to interact with citizens out enjoying the blossoms.
Kang Yu-jeong, senior spokesperson for Cheong Wa Dae, also known as the Blue House, announced this in a written briefing the same day.
Kang said citizens warmly welcomed the presidential couple, shouting phrases such as "We’re rooting for you, Mr. President and Madam!", "It’s great to see you!", "Thank you!" and "Please look over here, too!"
President Lee and his wife took selfies and greeted citizens who asked for photos, and they also posed for selfies with foreign visitors from Panama and China. They then took pictures with a grandmother, who introduced herself as the daughter of an independence activist, and her granddaughter. President Lee was especially delighted when young couples with babies and newlyweds asked for photos, laughing broadly as he emphasized, "Newlyweds are really important."
Approaching an elderly person who had come alone, President Lee asked in a friendly tone, "Where did you come from?" He also bent down on one knee to take selfies at eye level with children in strollers and young kids, engaging in his characteristic down-to-earth communication with citizens.
