Provided by Newsis News Agency. According to Financial News, Jeong Cheong-rae, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK), declared that the war against rebellion cannot be stopped and argued that the upcoming local elections will become a venue for judging that rebellion.
He said, "As long as pro-rebellion forces that chant 'Yoon Again' remain scattered across the country, the war against rebellion cannot be halted. " Speaking at a public briefing held at the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea on the morning of the same day to mark one year since the impeachment ruling against Yoon Suk Yeol, Jeong stated, "It has been one year since Yoon Suk Yeol was impeached, but the liquidation of the rebellion is still very much in progress.
Yoon Suk Yeol, the ringleader of the rebellion, received only the legal minimum of life imprisonment, and the pro-rebellion forces who shouted 'Yoon Again' are still spewing outrageous remarks and stirring up trouble at every opportunity. " Jeong went on to say, "We must strictly punish, under a principle of zero tolerance, the ringleader of the rebellion who tried to destroy constitutional order and trample on democracy, as well as the forces that sided with him," adding, "Only then can we move beyond the liquidation of the rebellion and advance toward genuine national unity.
" He continued, "We will fully uncover the truth behind the December 3 Martial Law rebellion, including the state mismanagement by Kim Keon Hee and Yoon Suk Yeol, and we will root out every last remnant like dust," and pledged, "We will ensure that no one can ever again even dream of committing acts of treason by decisively punishing the main culprits, accomplices, and sympathizers of the rebellion and by putting in place comprehensive institutional safeguards. " Jeong also stressed, "The upcoming June 3 local elections are a critical crossroads and a moment of life-or-death importance for liquidating the rebellion, restoring normal governance, and ensuring the success of the Lee Jae-myung administration," adding, "Through these local elections, we must firmly judge the 'Yoon Again' forces, reestablish popular sovereignty, and move toward true national unity.
