According to Financial News, the day has come when the Russian Federation openly mocks the United States of America (US) over war. A Russian politician referred to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and argued that "kidnapping" him is not the Russian way. On the 4th, citing RIA Novosti and other foreign media, the report said that Valentina Matviyenko, chair of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, was asked in a Vesti TV interview on the 3rd (local time) about the case of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela President Nicolás Maduro Moros. She responded, "Are you suggesting that we should kidnap Zelenskyy? Do not try to elicit an answer that implies we must immediately attack or abduct someone."
She stressed, "That is not our way. We are a nation that preserves its dignity and a country that is respected in the international community."
She described the way the United States previously apprehended Nicolás Maduro Moros as a form of kidnapping.
Valentina Matviyenko stated that if the Russian Federation were to resort to kidnapping, "we would lose our self-respect, and that is the most important issue."
She also criticized the United States over the death of Islamic Republic of Iran Supreme Leader Ali Hosseini Khamenei in a US airstrike, saying, "The United States gained nothing from it, and only a stain on its reputation will remain in history."
Noting that the power structure in the Islamic Republic of Iran is very solid, she said, "Other figures immediately filled his position. They, too, are fighting for their people and their sovereignty," adding, "This is only natural for any nation with self-respect."
