According to the Korea Organ Donation Agency on the 2nd, on the 20th of last month at Inje University Ilsan Paik Hospital, 38-year-old Kim Gyeom donated his heart, lungs, liver, both kidneys and eyes, giving seven people a new lease on life before passing away. He also donated human tissues including skin, bone, cartilage and blood vessels, helping around 100 patients recover from disabilities.
On the 13th of last month, Kim suddenly collapsed while playing bass during a church service and was rushed to hospital, but he never regained consciousness. His family recalled that he had registered as a prospective organ donor back in 2007 and agreed to proceed with the donation.

A Christian from birth, he dreamed of becoming a pastor and entered a theological university, and even after getting a job at a logistics company he was said to have remained a devout member of his church.
Wife's farewell: "I’ll tell the children their dad was truly blessed and good"
Kim, who met his wife Son Ju-hee at church, was also a devoted father of three. After finishing work at his company, he would spend time at home with their children, aged 9, 7 and 100 days.
His wife Son said in her final message, "Are you doing well in heaven? I believe you are in God's arms, the happiest and most at peace." She continued, "I keep telling the children that their dad was truly a blessed and good person. I will love them even more and raise them well for both of us, so please watch over us from heaven."
