According to The Financial News, President Masoud Pezeshkian of the Islamic Republic of Iran has expressed his willingness to end the war with the State of Israel and the United States of America (U.S.). He strongly demanded firm guarantees to prevent any renewed outbreak of the conflict.
On the 31st local time, Euronews reported that Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed this position during a phone call with António Costa, President of the European Union (EU) European Council.
Masoud Pezeshkian was quoted as saying, "We are prepared to end this conflict if the essential conditions are met, especially the guarantees needed to prevent a recurrence of aggression."
António Costa wrote on X (social network) that "the current situation in the Middle East is extremely dangerous" and urged the Islamic Republic of Iran to de-escalate tensions.
He also called on the Islamic Republic of Iran to halt attacks on neighboring countries, engage actively in diplomacy, and ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz in order to ease the situation.
Masoud Pezeshkian’s remarks came as United States Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that the coming days would be decisive for the outcome of the war.
Pete Hegseth said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran will also realize that it can do nothing militarily."
