The Financial News reported that as domestic budget coffee brands move into overseas markets, Mammoth Coffee is gaining strong support from Japanese consumers with its "large size and value for money" strategy.
On the 25th, TV Asahi reported that Mammoth Coffee, which entered the Japanese market in January last year, has been opening stores in office-dense areas to target workers and is growing in popularity.

TV Asahi analyzed that Mammoth Coffee has secured a foothold in the market among Japanese customers looking for affordable coffee, thanks to its large portions and low prices. In Japan, coffee prices have recently risen in step with higher coffee bean costs, which are partly attributed to global warming.
Its signature menu item, a large iced Americano, costs around 400 yen (about 3,600 won) for a 940 ml serving.
The small and medium sizes are also priced at 190 yen and 250 yen, respectively, which is cheaper than typical coffee chains. At Doutor Coffee, one of Japan’s most popular coffee brands, an Americano costs 330 yen and a café latte 430 yen.

A customer who bought a large Americano at the first Toranomon, Tokyo branch said in an interview, "I ordered a large size today," adding, "It’s about 400 yen, and it’s cheap, big, and tasty, so I keep coming back." The customer then held the cup next to their face to show how big it was.
To support its large-volume, low-price strategy, the company is also operating its stores in a highly efficient way.

Store owner Yuu Ganene explained, "Customers place their orders at a kiosk, and when their number appears, they pick up their drinks themselves. The store is designed for take-out only," adding, "By cutting rent and labor costs, we can offer large servings of coffee at low prices even as bean prices soar."
Since opening its first store in Toranomon, Tokyo in January last year, Mammoth Coffee has been expanding quickly, selling up to 1,400 cups a day.
