"Korea’s AI market to grow to 75 trillion won by 2032"
According to Microsoft (MS), Korea’s AI market is expanding rapidly, recording an annual growth rate of more than 30%. Wonwoo Cho, head of Microsoft Korea, projected that the Korean AI market, currently around 7 billion dollars (about 10.5 trillion won), will grow to roughly 50 billion dollars (about 75 trillion won) by 2032.
On the same day, MS unveiled Wave 3 of Microsoft 365 Copilot. The newly introduced Work IQ feature understands each user’s work context across core apps such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook, and generates tailored outputs. In particular, the Copilot Cowork function allows users to specify only the final goal, after which AI automatically integrates scattered internal data and plans and executes multi-step tasks on its own.
MS also plans to launch the integrated enterprise plan "Microsoft 365 E7" (First Frontier Suite) on May 1, which combines Copilot with governance capabilities. The new plan bundles Copilot, Microsoft Agent 365, and key security products on top of the existing Microsoft 365 E5 plan.
KT showcases real-world AX cases of Korean companies at its exhibition booth
KT participated in the event for the second consecutive year and presented ways to translate AI adoption in the workplace into tangible results, based on proof-of-concept projects it has carried out with Korean companies over the past year.
The KT exhibition booth was divided into three sections: infrastructure, application cases, and business problem-solving. The infrastructure section showcased the foundations needed to drive AX, focusing on cloud and data platforms. The application cases section highlighted how AI agents are being used in industries such as finance, manufacturing, and retail. In the business problem-solving section, KT introduced the "KT Innovation Hub," which opened last year at the KT Gwanghwamun Building, along with its "AI-based development management platform." KT also took part in the presentation sessions to share its AX achievements. In a breakout session, the company explained how it implemented work automation using Agentic AI within an environment with enhanced security and authentication. During a lightning talk, it shared how client companies achieved AX through the KT Innovation Hub. Jung Woo-jin, Head of Strategy and Business Consulting Group at KT, stated, "By spreading the K-AX execution model, which has been validated in real industrial settings, and strengthening AX capabilities, we will step up our efforts to help companies and the public prepare for the era of Agentic AI." wongood@fnnews.com, Reporter Joo Won-gyu of Financial News and reporter Jang Min-kwon
