According to Financial News, President Lee Jae-myung of South Korea has recorded his highest job approval rating since taking office, a new poll showed.
Embrain Public, KStat Research, Korea Research International and Hankook Research announced on the 26th that Lee Jae-myung's job approval rating stood at 69%, the highest level in their own surveys since he was inaugurated last June.
In the National Barometer Survey (NBS) conducted nationwide from March 23 to 25 on 1,002 adults aged 18 and older, 69% of respondents gave a positive assessment of Lee Jae-myung's performance in office, up 2 percentage points from the previous survey two weeks earlier.
Negative evaluations came to 22%, down 2 percentage points from the last survey.
By party support, The Minjoo Party of Korea registered 46%, while the People Power Party (PPP) recorded 18%. Compared with the previous poll, support for The Minjoo Party of Korea rose by 3 percentage points and backing for the PPP increased by 1 percentage point.
The NBS was carried out through telephone interviews using 100% mobile virtual numbers. The margin of error is ±3.1 percentage points at the 95% confidence level, and the response rate was 21.3%. Further details are available on the website of the Central Election Poll Deliberation Commission.
