[Financial News] It has sparked controversy after it became known that Jin’s name was left out of the credits for BTS’s new album.
On the 20th, BTS held a full-group live broadcast to celebrate the release of their fifth studio album, “Arirang.”
While talking about the album, RM said, “Each of our colors is reflected in it,” and added with regret, “If only Jin’s tour had ended a little earlier, he would have worked on it with us.”
V explained, “There was a time when we could have worked together, but he wasn’t feeling well. He was constantly on tour.”
During the group’s songwriting camp in Los Angeles (LA), Jin had been the first member to complete his military service and was in the middle of his solo tour schedule.
As a result, the timing of Jin’s solo tour overlapped with the songwriting camp, and his name ultimately did not appear in the credits for “Arirang.”
RM remarked, “He went through a lot. It was really a shame.” Jimin of BTS added, “Thanks to him protecting the team, this album was able to come out,” giving the moment extra meaning.
Listening to them, Jin simply said, “I’m just happy that so many great songs came out.” Jung Kook, who was sitting next to him, quietly patted Jin on the shoulder as if to comfort him.
Fans who watched the broadcast said they noticed Jin’s expression suddenly harden during this part of the conversation. They reacted with comments such as, “I’ve never seen that look on his face before,” “He looks like he feels betrayed,” “Couldn’t they have pushed back the songwriting camp?” “How is he supposed to rearrange a tour that was already booked?” and “The reason the schedules overlapped just doesn’t make sense.”
They also pointed out that Jin appears to be sidelined in the trailer for the Netflix documentary “BTS: The Return,” which is set to be released on the 27th.
In the trailer, it is highlighted that Jin was the last member to arrive and the first to leave, and that when he rejoined the group after finishing his solo tour, he walked into a studio where most of the work had already been done and said, “I don’t know why I’m here.” Fans have taken issue with this scene.
Meanwhile, the day after releasing “Arirang,” on the 21st, BTS kicked off their comeback by holding “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE: ARIRANG” around Gwanghwamun Square. The group will also appear together on National Broadcasting Company (NBC)’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” airing on the 26th and 27th.
