Hit-and-run driver caught with help from off-duty police officer on his way home

[The Financial News] In Busan Metropolitan City, a car hit a pedestrian and a traffic signal and then fled the scene without offering any assistance. The driver was later apprehended with the help of a police officer who happened to be passing nearby.
\r\nAccording to the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency on the 24th, at around 7 p.m. on the 10th, a car traveling straight on a two-lane one-way road near the Mora Station Intersection in Mora-dong, Sasang District, Busan, suddenly accelerated and struck a pedestrian who was waiting to cross at a crosswalk, as well as a traffic signal. The impact of the crash also caused two nearby pedestrians to fall in shock.
\r\nHowever, the driver of the vehicle left the scene without taking any further action. A patrol car that happened to be in the area spotted this and began a pursuit, and Assistant Inspector Kim Dae-geun of the Mora Police Substation at Busan Sasang Police Station, who was off duty and on his way home at the time, joined the chase, helping to apprehend the driver.
