Hello, this is HYBE.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the warm support and consideration you showed for the BTS concert held at Gwanghwamun Gate yesterday.
First, we are deeply grateful to the authorities for allowing Gyeongbokgung Palace and Gwanghwamun Gate, which symbolize the Republic of Korea, to be used as the concert venue.
We fully recognize that Gyeongbokgung Palace and Gwanghwamun Gate are spaces where the history and identity of Korea, as well as its contemporary culture, coexist and come alive. HYBE considers it a great honor to have been able to present a performance to the world from this location.
We would like to extend our deep thanks to the police, firefighters, and all officials from the central and local governments who worked tirelessly to ensure that this concert could be completed safely.
We also offer both our apologies and our thanks to the citizens in the Gwanghwamun area, as well as nearby merchants, office workers, and visitors. Because we had to ensure that a globally watched concert was carried out with absolute safety, unavoidable measures such as traffic and building controls and inspections for hazardous items were implemented. We sincerely apologize to everyone who experienced inconvenience in their daily routines and personal schedules while passing through Gwanghwamun Square. Thanks to your generous understanding and consideration, we were able to create a truly meaningful moment.
K-pop has grown into a culture that resonates with audiences around the world thanks not only to artists and fans, but also to the cultural foundation built by Korean society as a whole and the mature support of its citizens. We are well aware that this concert, too, was only possible on the basis of that foundation. The orderly behavior of the audience, their civic-mindedness, and the way people cared for one another made the event shine even more. We would like to once again thank everyone involved.
HYBE will cherish the support and consideration you have shown for this concert and will redouble our efforts to share the emotion and value of K-pop and K-culture with audiences around the globe. In particular, we are grateful that the performance allowed us to showcase our proud cultural heritage to the world. We will swiftly finalize, in close consultation with the relevant institutions, concrete measures to protect and promote national heritage and cultural assets, and we will put in place a long-term support system.
Once again, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making the Gwanghwamun concert possible.
Lastly, we offer our condolences to all those affected by the Daejeon factory fire. We express our deepest sympathy to the bereaved families and wish the injured a full and speedy recovery.
