[Financial News] On the 20th, “BTS POP-UP : ARIRANG,” which simultaneously opened at the HYBE headquarters building in Yongsan District, Seoul and The Heritage at the Shinsegae Department Store Main Branch, drew attention as an exhibition-style pop-up space that brings the album’s concept and message to life in three dimensions.
According to Big Hit Music on the 21st, visitors from around the world were captivated by a volcanic rock sculpture about 1.9 meters tall installed at the entrance. The sculpture, which embodies the title of the new album “Arirang,” was paired with a Big Dipper graphic spread across the floor, heightening the sense of immersion. The highlight of the exhibition area was clearly the visuals of the seven members, whose large-format photos had cameras clicking nonstop.
The interactive experience zone has quickly become a “must-visit course” among visitors. In the “Arirang Meari” area, where five forms of love are represented by rolling balls, dynamic visual and auditory effects captivated the eyes and ears, keeping people flowing through the space. The “What is your love song?” zone, where visitors combine the album’s track list, members, and their own nickname to generate a graphic, was packed with people eager to take home a one-of-a-kind image.
Collaborative merchandise with the Cultural Foundation of National Museum of Korea’s MU:DS (Museum Goods) was also unveiled. The products reinterpret in a modern way the decorations engraved on the Sacred Bell of Great King Seongdeok, a National Treasure. Shoulder bags and card holders with intricate patterns, along with layered skirts and hair accessories that highlight Korean silhouettes, showcase striking beauty.
Meanwhile, the new album “Arirang,” released at 1 p.m. on the 20th, captures universal emotions that many people can relate to. Executive producer Bang Si-hyuk oversaw the project, enhancing its overall quality. The title track “Swim” is an alternative pop song that sings about pressing forward without stopping, even amid the waves of life.
From the 20th through April 19, BTS is also rolling out an urban project titled “BTS THE CITY ARIRANG - SEOUL” across downtown Seoul. Major landmark media facade displays and a drone music light show will be presented in sequence, turning the entire city into a vibrant festival.
