According to Financial News, President Lee Jae Myung on the 20th ordered that all available equipment and personnel be mobilized for accident response and rescue operations after a fire at an auto parts factory in Daedeok District, Daejeon Metropolitan City.
Kang Yu-jung, spokesperson for the presidential office Cheong Wa Dae, announced in a press notice that "after receiving a report on the factory fire in Daedeok District, Daejeon, President Lee immediately ordered that all available resources, including equipment and personnel, be fully mobilized for accident response and rescue operations."
She added, "In particular, he urged that every effort be made to carry out rapid rescue operations while also preventing any safety accidents among rescue personnel."
Earlier, at about 1:17 p.m. that day, a fire broke out at an auto parts manufacturing plant located in Munpyeong-dong, Daedeok District, Daejeon Metropolitan City. As of 2:30 p.m., 35 people were reported to be seriously injured and 15 to have minor injuries, for a total of 50 people hurt.
