[The Financial News] Uber Taxi announced on the 20th that it will offer a range of services ahead of the BTS comeback event on the 21st, when large numbers of domestic and international visitors are expected to gather.
From this day through the 22nd, Uber Taxi has updated its pick-up and drop-off location service to reflect real-time traffic conditions.
The service designates locations where taxis can safely pick up and drop off passengers, reducing confusion between riders and drivers and supporting safer, more convenient travel.
Taking user convenience and traffic conditions into account, Uber plans to operate a total of 16 optimal pick-up and drop-off points around Gyeongbokgung Station, Gwanghwamun Station, and City Hall Station.
Major business hotels in Seoul and hotels popular with foreign visitors are also included as designated pick-up and drop-off locations, allowing guests to travel more easily from their accommodation to the event venue.
From that night, vehicle restrictions will be in place across the area, and subway trains will skip certain stations while bus routes are diverted. With disruptions to public transportation expected, taxis are projected to serve as an effective alternative.
Because the service is used by riders in about 70 countries, Uber will also provide traffic congestion information to users of many different nationalities.
Uber will also offer taxi reservation services for domestic and international tourists. The company aims to help customers choose the most suitable transportation options and services for their planned routes on the day of the event.
An Uber Taxi representative stated, "The translation features available in the Uber app, along with the ability for travelers to use the same Uber app they use at home without installing anything new, are unique strengths that will offer significant convenience to foreign tourists."
