[The Financial News] RM, the leader of BTS, injured his ankle on the 19th, two days before the group’s comeback show. However, he will still appear at the Gwanghwamun comeback performance on the 21st as scheduled.
Big Hit Music stated on the 20th, "During rehearsal for the performance on the 19th, RM suffered an ankle injury and was taken to the hospital for a detailed examination and treatment." The agency added, "The examination showed a sprain of the accessory navicular bone with a partial ligament tear and a contusion of the talus (ligament damage and inflammation). Following a leg cast, doctors advised that he must minimize movement and focus on recovery for at least two weeks."
Despite the injury, RM is said to be very determined to stand on stage for the comeback performance.
Big Hit Music continued, "Giving top priority to the doctors’ opinion and to prevent any worsening of the injury, we made the difficult decision together with the artist to minimize RM’s movements during the comeback show." The agency noted, "On stage, his choreography and some parts of his performance will be restricted."
Meanwhile, BTS will hold a free comeback concert titled "BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE: ARIRANG" at 8 p.m. on the 21st at Gwanghwamun Square. The concert will be broadcast live worldwide via Netflix.
