The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) announced on the 19th that it will run a "K-culture Special Program" at five national cultural institutions in Seoul from the 20th. The initiative is timed to coincide with the BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) comeback concert taking place around Gwanghwamun in Seoul on the 21st.
The National Museum of Korea, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, the National Folk Museum of Korea, the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History, and the National Library of Korea will each present a range of programs. These include exhibitions, hands-on experiences, performances, and educational events that highlight the unique character of each institution.
The National Museum of Korea has produced English-language video guides introducing artifacts such as the "Pensive Bodhisattva" and the "Moon jar," both well known as interests of BTS members, and will release them on the 21st. In addition, the National Museum Foundation of Korea has collaborated with HYBE to develop cultural products based on items from the museum’s collection, which will go on sale from the 20th at the museum gift shop and other outlets.
The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea will run an English tour program for foreign visitors titled "MMCA: Meet the K-Art" from the 20th through the 19th of next month. At the 384-cubic-meter BTS Sound Cube, a large structure installed in the outdoor plaza of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul, visitors can experience BTS music through a media projection installation that transforms objects and space with projected light.
The National Folk Museum of Korea will present a special program called "K-Culture Folk Culture with BTS" from the 20th through the 30th of next month. It will offer guided exhibition tours focusing on artifacts that have drawn interest from BTS members, and operate an outdoor "K-Playground" where visitors can try traditional games such as tuho (arrow throwing), top-spinning, and jegichagi, which appeared in the YouTube content "Run BTS!"
The National Museum of Korean Contemporary History will display a time capsule donated by BTS along with related video content through May 31. From April to June, it will also run a children’s education program titled "Arirang of Rock," which links director Na Woon-gyu’s 1926 film "Arirang" with BTS’s planned "Arirang" performance in 2026 to explore Arirang as a piece of popular culture within modern and contemporary Korean history.
The National Library of Korea will hold a book exhibition from the 20th through the 12th of next month under the theme "Books That Inspired BTS Music!" The display will bring together in one place literary works that inspired BTS members—such as Kim Yeongrang’s "Until the Peonies Bloom" and Yun Dong-ju’s "The Boy"—along with related research materials and books. The library will also continue to present "Writer’s Note," an exhibition where visitors can experience Korean literary works through interactive media art.
