[Financial News] On the 19th, President Lee Jae-myung commented on news that, following cooking oil and instant noodles, prices of some confectionery, mass-produced bread and ice cream products will also be cut. That day, Lee shared a post by Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Song Mi-ryeong on his X (formerly Twitter) account, writing, "Minister Song Mi-ryeong is doing a great job." He continued, "Thank you for your hard work," and added, "The Korea Fair Trade Commission is also doing very well."
Earlier, Minister Song had announced on X that "following cooking oil and instant noodles, prices of some confectionery, mass-produced bread and ice cream products will also be reduced."
Minister Song explained, "The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is working on the ground with industry to stabilize food prices that are closely tied to people’s daily lives," adding, "Following last week’s decision by the cooking oil and instant noodle industries to join in price cuts, prices of some snacks, bread and ice cream will also be reduced."
