Police send additional case against 'motel serial killer' Kim So-young to prosecutors...three more victims identified

[Financial News] It has been confirmed that Kim So-young, 20, the defendant in the "Gangbuk motel serial killings" case, committed additional "drug-laced drink" offenses against three men, and the case has been additionally sent to the prosecution.
According to police on the 19th, the Seoul Gangbuk Police Station has additionally referred Kim to the prosecution on charges of aggravated assault and violating the Narcotics Control Act involving psychotropic drugs. Police determined that the crimes were established with respect to three newly identified victims, in addition to the original case.
Police stated that hair analysis of the victims showed positive results for drugs in two of the three men. The substances detected were identified as benzodiazepine class psychotropic medications, the same type used on the original victims.
If the additional charges are further substantiated, prosecutors may file additional indictments.
On March 10, Kim was placed under detention and indicted on charges of handing drinks containing benzodiazepine class drugs to three men in their 20s between mid-December last year and February 9 this year, causing them to lose consciousness or die.
Kim's first trial hearing is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on April 9 at the Seoul Northern District Court.
