[The Financial News] On the 18th, President Lee Jae-myung of South Korea stated that, in connection with the BTS concert to be held this Saturday at Gwanghwamun Square, "we are making thorough preparations together with the relevant ministries, local governments, the police, fire authorities and other related agencies so that the event can proceed safely." Posting on X (formerly Twitter) the same day, Lee Jae-myung wrote, "On Saturday the 21st, at Gwanghwamun Square, there will be a concert by BTS, artists the Republic of Korea (South Korea) is proud of. I hope it will be a meaningful occasion to share the beauty of our cultural heritage and the appeal of K-culture under the theme of 'Arirang.'"
He urged people to cooperate with the guidance of on-site safety personnel and asked, "Please be sure to report any ticket scalping or other illegal ticket resales that disrupt market order."
He went on, "I believe that, as always, the people of our nation will be considerate of one another, observe order, and demonstrate mature civic awareness." He added, "I hope this BTS concert will once again prove the great power of the culture created by South Korea and become a special moment long remembered around the world."
