The online contest, themed "Aesthetics of Light," is designed to let Korean users experience the imaging philosophy behind the jointly developed models from Xiaomi Corporation and Leica Camera. Anyone from professional photographers to everyday users can use a smartphone camera to capture everyday moments from their own perspective and take part in photographic creation. Participants are free to submit impressive scenes that express their own interpretation of the aesthetics of light.
Entries will be accepted only if they are shot with a Xiaomi Corporation smartphone equipped with lenses co-developed with Leica Camera, or with a Leica Camera. Submitted works will be reviewed by photographer Cho Se-hyun, and the final winners will be announced on the 30th of next month. The judging will take a comprehensive approach, focusing on how well the theme is interpreted and expressed, the story and emotion conveyed by the photos, as well as composition and overall completeness.
Xiaomi Technology Korea will award the first-place winner (one person) a Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition. Three second-place winners will receive a Xiaomi Portable Photo Printer Pro with a set of 20 sheets of photo paper, and ten third-place winners will be given department store gift certificates worth 10,000 won each.
During the contest period, the company will also run various social media events that are easy for anyone to join, including a word-of-mouth promotion event and a product trial group event.
The Xiaomi 17 series consists of two models: the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the Xiaomi 17. In particular, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra combines a 1-inch lateral overflow integration capacitor (LOFIC) main sensor with Leica-certified apochromatic (APO) lenses and a 200-megapixel telephoto camera.
Meanwhile, to celebrate the launch of new products including the Xiaomi Pad 8 released in March, Xiaomi Technology Korea will hold an offline hands-on review event from the 19th to the 22nd of this month. During the event period, customers can visit a Xiaomi offline store, try out newly released products such as the Xiaomi Pad 8, Redmi Buds 8 Pro, Xiaomi Tag, Xiaomi Watch 5, and Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000mAh, and then upload a review of their actual usage experience while tagging the @Xiaomi.Korea account to participate. A total of 10 posts will be selected through internal screening, and the selected participants will receive prizes. The prizes consist of five Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000mAh units and five Redmi Buds 8 Pro units.
