‘Signal failure’ halts express trains on Subway Line 9... all services switched to local trains

[The Financial News] A signal failure on Seoul Subway Line 9 has suspended express train operations along the entire line. The signaling equipment has been temporarily restored, but express trains will be reintroduced gradually.
According to Seoul Metro Line 9 on the 17th, a failure in the signal equipment at the Integrated Control Center at 10:22 a.m. forced all express services between Gaehwa Station and VHS Medical Center station to operate as local trains.
Seoul Metro Line 9 immediately dispatched its technical team and temporarily restored the signal equipment at 11:17 a.m.
An official at Seoul Metro Line 9 stated, "Switching local trains already in service back to express trains could create safety issues, so we plan to deploy express trains sequentially."
