[The Financial News] Job seekers have chosen SK hynix as the large company where they would most like to work.
Samsung Electronics pushed down to No. 2... Hyundai Motor Company at No. 3, Naver at No. 4
On the 16th, career platform Saramin announced that in a survey of 2,304 adults on the large companies they most want to join, SK hynix ranked first with a 20% response rate, overtaking Samsung Electronics.
Samsung Electronics, which had consistently held the top spot in similar surveys, came in second with 18.9%.
Analysts say semiconductor companies’ dominance at the top of the rankings reflects job seekers’ preference for the sector’s strong growth prospects, driven by the expansion of the global artificial intelligence (AI) market.
Hyundai Motor Company (7.9%), Naver (4%), and Samsung C&T (3%) rounded out the top five. They were followed by Hanwha Aerospace (2.4%), Ottogi (1.9%), Kakao (1.8%), Samsung Biologics (1.7%), and LG Electronics (1.7%).
Samsung and SK hynix "for the pay"... Naver and Hanwha Aerospace "for the vision"
However, the reasons respondents wanted to join each company varied depending on the characteristics of the firm.
Respondents who chose SK hynix, Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor Company, and Samsung C&T cited "high pay" as the main reason. In contrast, those who picked Samsung Biologics, Hanwha Aerospace, and Naver pointed to the companies’ "vision and growth potential" as their primary motivation.
Meanwhile, many of the top-ranked companies in this survey are currently running open recruitment for new graduates. SK hynix is accepting applications until the 23rd, while Samsung Electronics and Samsung Biologics are taking documents until the 17th. Hanwha Aerospace plans to release its new graduate recruitment notice on the 16th and begin hiring.
