According to legal sources on the 16th, Presiding Judge Oh Byung-hee of the 14th Criminal Division of the Seoul Northern District Court has scheduled Kim's first hearing for 3:30 p.m. on April 9. Kim has been charged with murder, aggravated assault, and violations of the Narcotics Control Act.
Kim is accused of giving drinks laced with a benzodiazepine-based drug to three men in their 20s between December last year and February 9 this year, causing them to lose consciousness or die. Two of the victims died, while one received treatment and recovered.
Prosecutors have characterized Kim's crimes as having an abnormal motive and being premeditated. During the investigation, Kim argued in effect that she did not have the intent to commit the offenses.
In a Psychopathy Checklist–Revised (PCL-R) assessment conducted earlier by police, Kim scored 25 out of 40, placing her in the psychopathy range.
On March 9, based on the findings of the Personal Information Disclosure Review Committee, prosecutors released her name, age, and mugshot.
