[The Financial News] As Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong's vest look has become a hot topic, the vest worn by Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun during last year's so-called "Kkanbu" get-together with Lee and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is also belatedly drawing attention. It emerged that the two chaebol leaders were wearing vests from the same brand.
According to industry sources on the 15th, Lee returned from his business trip to Europe via the Seoul Gimpo Business Aviation Center (SGBAC) in Gangseo District, Seoul, at around 12:45 p.m. on the 13th.
On this trip, Samsung SDI President Choi Joo-sun and others accompanied him, and Lee is said to have met with executives from major European automakers.
When asked whether he had met with clients in Europe during the trip, Lee simply answered, "Yes," before leaving the scene. His outfit—a white padded vest layered over a suit—caught the eye.
This was because he had been seen wearing the same vest last September, when a travel YouTuber posted a video from a ramen shop in Kyoto, Japan, showing a man believed to be Lee dining alone.
The vest is believed to be from luxury brand Brunello Cucinelli. It reportedly costs around 5.6 million won, but is currently sold out.
Attention then shifted to Chung. He wore a vest from the same brand to the so-called "Kkanbu" gathering with Jensen Huang and Lee at a fried chicken restaurant near Samseong Station in Gangnam District, Seoul, in October last year.
Online reactions have been enthusiastic. Some commenters wrote, "Brunello is the chairmen's favorite brand" and "It seems the chairmen really like Brunello Cucinelli products," showing keen interest in the label. Others said, "If a person has character, whatever they wear becomes a luxury item regardless of the price."
