[The Financial News] Singer 10cm (real name Kwon Jeong-yeol) drew attention by deciding to fully refund all tickets after his concert. He explained that his condition on the day was poor and he was unable to deliver his best performance. Depending on the seat, tickets were priced between 100,000 and 200,000 won.
In a statement released on the 15th, 10cm's team said, "We deeply apologize to all the fans who waited for the Singapore concert and came to the venue that we were unable to present a fully polished performance in our best condition, and this concert will be fully refunded."
10cm is currently on an Asia tour and performed in Singapore the previous day. However, it was reported that he received medical treatment on the day of the show due to deteriorating throat condition.
Explaining why the concert went ahead, 10cm's team noted, "The show proceeded as scheduled in line with the artist's strong desire to go on stage for the fans who came with such high expectations." They added, "Together with medical staff, we will closely monitor the artist's condition, put health and safety first, and do our utmost to ensure a swift recovery," and continued, "Once again, we ask for your understanding."
Online users reacted by commenting, "This is what true artistic integrity looks like," "It couldn't have been an easy decision, but it's admirable," and "This is both a singer's pride and conscience... incredible."
10cm's Asia tour runs through May 3, covering eight cities in total: starting in Seoul and continuing in Busan, Bangkok, Singapore, Taipei, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Daejeon.
