It has been confirmed that Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae, who remanded President Lee Jae-myung’s public official election law violation case, was already reported on suspicion of violating the new judicial distortion offense on the 2nd, one of the Three Judicial Laws that were promulgated and came into force at midnight on the 12th. As for the constitutional petition for judicial review, 16 cases had been filed by 6 p.m. on the first day of implementation, including the first case, the Syrian Deportation Order Case.
With the door now open to the Three Judicial Laws, a seismic shift in the judicial system began in earnest on this day. The police expect that, in addition to Chief Justice Cho, complaints alleging the judicial distortion offense against judges and prosecutors will pour into police stations nationwide. Constitutional petitions for judicial review are also likely to surge sharply across all areas.
