Financial News reported that, after a series of rocket attacks on Israel by Hezbollah, the Iran-aligned armed group based in Lebanon, the Israeli government has called on the Lebanese government to stop the assaults.
On the 11th (local time), The Times of Israel (ToI) reported that a senior Israeli government official warned in an interview that if the Lebanese government fails to halt Hezbollah’s rocket attacks, the capital Beirut could be turned into ruins by Israeli airstrikes, like the Gaza Strip.
The official urged the Lebanese government to take control of the country.
That day, Hezbollah launched its largest barrage of rockets and drones toward northern Israel since the outbreak of the war involving the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Around 100 rockets were fired toward central Israel, and missiles launched from the Islamic Republic of Iran also landed in southern and northern Israel, ToI reported.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that it carried out airstrikes on Hezbollah command centers and rocket launchers inside Lebanon.
The IDF claimed that within 30 minutes it destroyed 10 Hezbollah command posts and more than 10 rocket launchers in southern Beirut.
