Nurse Assistant Who Supplied Drugs to Woman in Banpo Bridge Porsche Crash Appears for Detention Hearing

[The Financial News] A former nurse assistant accused of supplying psychotropic medication to the driver who caused a crash while driving a Porsche under the influence of drugs on Banpo Bridge in Seoul has appeared in court for a pretrial detention hearing. A decision on whether to issue the detention warrant is expected as early as this afternoon.
According to reporting by The Financial News on the 10th, A, a woman in her 30s who is suspected of violating the Narcotics Control Act, appeared at the Seoul Western District Court for a pretrial detention hearing on the warrant request.
A arrived at the court at around 9:48 a.m. that day, wearing a black padded jacket and entering the building with a mask and cap pulled down low.
Yongsan Police Station in Seoul requested a preliminary detention warrant for A on the 6th, believing that she supplied psychotropic drugs to the driver B, a woman in her 30s, who was allegedly under the influence of narcotics when she crashed her Porsche off Banpo Bridge on the 25th of last month.
A was in the passenger seat of B's car at the time of the accident and voluntarily appeared before police for questioning on the 2nd. During the investigation, she reportedly stated that she had handed over drugs to B.
A was identified as a former nurse assistant who had worked at a hospital. Police believe B came to know A while visiting multiple hospitals to obtain prescriptions for propofol and other drugs. In connection with this, investigators recently carried out a search and seizure at the hospital where A had worked.
Once A is taken into custody, police plan to focus their investigation on whether the drugs were actually administered, how the narcotics were obtained, and how they were distributed.
Earlier, on the afternoon of the 25th of last month, B was driving a Porsche sport utility vehicle (SUV) across Banpo Bridge in Seoul when she crashed into the guardrail and plunged onto the riverside area of the Hangang River near Jamsu Bridge.
Police found an empty vial of propofol, a syringe, and medical tubing in the crashed vehicle. B was arrested and referred to prosecutors on the 6th on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act, drug-impaired driving under the Road Traffic Act, and dangerous driving resulting in injury under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.
