[The Financial News] Police have launched a compulsory investigation into a former nurse aide suspected of supplying psychotropic drugs to the driver who caused a crash after driving a Porsche under the influence on Banpo Bridge in Seoul.
According to police on the 9th, Yongsan Police Station in Seoul recently carried out a search and seizure at the hospital where a woman in her 30s, identified only by the initial A, had worked. She is under investigation on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Act. The raid was conducted to trace the source of the Propofol administered to the Porsche driver, a man identified only by the initial B.
The hospital in question is where A had been employed, and police believe that some of the Propofol found in the vehicle at the time of the accident came from this facility. Investigators are reviewing prescription and drug management records seized in the raid to determine whether the hospital bears any responsibility for illegal administration of the substance.
A is accused of handing over narcotics to B, the Porsche driver who was allegedly under the influence of drugs when he crashed off Banpo Bridge on the 25th of last month. A was in the passenger seat of B's car at the time of the accident and voluntarily appeared before police for questioning on the 2nd.
Yongsan Police Station in Seoul requested a pretrial detention warrant for A on the 6th. A hearing to determine the validity of her arrest warrant is scheduled for the 10th at the Seoul Western District Court.
