No Safety Issues at Nuclear Reactor Facilities After Magnitude 3.0 Quake Off Yeonggwang

[The Financial News] The Nuclear Safety and Security Commission (NSSC) announced that it has confirmed there are no safety issues at any nuclear reactor facilities in the country following a magnitude 3.0 earthquake that occurred at 10:06 a.m. on the 7th in waters 66 kilometers northwest of Yeonggwang County, South Jeolla Province.
The facility closest to the epicenter is Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant, located about 54 kilometers away, where the recorded seismic acceleration was 0.0030g. This is well below the seismic design basis of 0.2g, meaning the quake had no impact on the facility. An emergency on-site safety inspection also found no abnormalities.
