In the United States of America (U.S.), daylight saving time will begin on the 8th (local time), moving the opening and closing of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) one hour earlier in Korean time. Daylight saving time in the U.S. will start on the 8th (local time).
At 2:00 a.m. on the 8th, clocks will move forward to 3:00 a.m. Based on Eastern Time, the time difference with Korea will shrink from 14 hours to 13 hours.
Starting on the 9th, trading on the New York Stock Exchange will run from 10:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the next day in Korean time, one hour earlier than before. The end of after-hours trading in Korean time, which is currently 10:00 a.m., will also move up to 9:00 a.m. on the first trading day under daylight saving time, March 10.
This change will ease the burden of overnight trading for Korean individual investors who trade U.S. stocks on the New York market.
Daylight saving time in the U.S. begins on the second Sunday of March and ends on the first Sunday of November. This year, it will end on November 1.
