[Financial News] CJ Olive Young announced on the 6th that an analysis of sales from its regular promotional event on its global online mall shows spending by foreign customers has expanded beyond K-beauty into wellness and other lifestyle categories.
During the first three days of the OLIVE YOUNG Global seasonal sale, which began on the 1st, cumulative sales in the massage products category increased more than fortyfold compared with the same period last year.
In particular, wellness items such as massage tools for swelling reduction, acupressure patches, and other relaxation products have grown in popularity.
Ahead of summer, demand also rose for related products such as weight-loss probiotics and Cutting Jelly, which is known as a diet snack. After being featured by a prominent overseas influencer, Cutting Jelly ranked among the top 10 products in this seasonal sale.
On an annual basis as well, a wide range of categories, including hair care, color cosmetics, and health foods, recorded continued growth.
By country, consumption trends show that in Japan, color cosmetics such as lip gloss and eye shadow ranked among the top-selling items, while in the United Kingdom, hair ampoules and other hair-loss care products led sales.
In the United States, wellness products such as pouch-type protein shakes drew attention, driving a 231% year-on-year increase in sales for the sports and protein drinks category.
OLIVE YOUNG Global offers more than 10,000 K-beauty and K-wellness products.
A CJ Olive Young representative said, "Membership and usage of our global mall continue to increase, particularly among foreign visitors who have traveled to Korea," adding, "We will keep expanding touchpoints that allow overseas customers to experience K-lifestyle in their everyday lives."
