[Financial News] The driver of the Porsche that plunged onto the Han River riverside after speeding along Banpo Bridge while intoxicated by drugs has been handed over to prosecutors.
According to police on the 6th, Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced that it had sent A, a woman in her 30s, to the prosecution in custody on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
At around 8:44 p.m. on the 25th of last month, A was driving a Porsche on Banpo Bridge when she broke through the guardrail and crashed onto the Han River riverside near Jamsu Bridge. During the fall, her car struck a Mercedes-Benz, and the male driver in his 40s suffered minor injuries.
Police found numerous empty vials of Propofol, disposable syringes filled with drugs, and medical tubing inside A's crashed car, and focused their investigation on whether the drugs had been illegally prescribed. A also admitted that she had driven while under the influence of the drugs.
On the 2nd of this month, an employee of a hospital that has a business relationship with the hospital marketing agency run by A voluntarily appeared before police and stated that they had supplied the drugs to her.
Police plan to further investigate A's drug-impaired driving and dangerous driving causing injury under the Road Traffic Act and then refer those charges to prosecutors in a separate case.
