Kim Min-jae, who plays for German Bundesliga powerhouse FC Bayern Munich, has become a hot topic for showing "world-class" fan service off the pitch.
On the 4th (local time), leading German outlet Bild reported, "This Bayern star has shown a truly warm heart," as it covered fan interactions by Kim Min-jae and other FC Bayern Munich players, adding that "the fan in the wheelchair was made happy."
According to Bild, a fan named Danny, who uses a wheelchair, was waiting for the players outside Bayern's training ground. As the players drove out one by one from the underground parking lot, the car carrying Kim Min-jae stopped right in front of Danny.
Unlike other players, who only rolled down their windows slightly to give autographs from inside their cars, Kim Min-jae opened the door, got out, and walked over to Danny. He gave Danny a hug, posed for a commemorative photo together, and also signed the mini football Danny had brought.
For Danny, who had traveled about 720 kilometers from Diepholz in Lower Saxony, Germany, just to see the Bayern squad, it was an unforgettable experience. Not only Kim Min-jae but also his FC Bayern Munich teammates Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich, and Lovro Zvonarek came over to greet Danny and share a warm moment with him.
Highlighting Kim Min-jae's gesture, Bild noted that "in recent months Kim Min-jae has been criticized for his performances, but this act fully deserves praise." Despite facing harsh assessments and intense scrutiny from the German media lately—enough to discourage any player—Kim Min-jae's heartfelt treatment of a fan has drawn widespread admiration.
