[Financial News] After a state visit to the Republic of Singapore, President Lee Jae-myung of South Korea is currently on a state visit to the Philippines and will, immediately upon his return, launch a review of the government’s response to the repercussions of the Iran war.
According to Cheong Wa Dae (the Blue House) on the 4th, President Lee is scheduled to preside over an extraordinary Cabinet meeting on the 5th.
At the meeting, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are expected to brief participants on current issues related to the Iran war and assess its potential spillover effects, including the possibility of a prolonged conflict. The government is also expected to discuss response measures at the national level.
Starting on the 1st, President Lee paid state visits to the Republic of Singapore and the Philippines over a four-day, three-night schedule and is due to return home late this afternoon. Even after concluding his trip, President Lee plans to continue reviewing economic and foreign affairs issues stemming from changes in the international situation.
