According to police on the 4th, Seoul Gangbuk Police Station stated that an assessment using the Psychopathy Checklist–Revised (PCL-R) on the suspect, a woman in her 20s surnamed Kim, produced this finding.
The psychopathy assessment quantifies traits associated with psychopathy, such as callousness, impulsivity, lack of empathy, and irresponsibility. It consists of 20 items related to psychiatric and personality characteristics and has a maximum score of 40. In South Korea, a score above 25 is generally classified as psychopathic.
Police sent the test results to the prosecution service on Thursday.
Kim was formally arrested and transferred to the prosecution service on the 19th of last month on charges of killing two men in succession by giving them drinks laced with drugs. Police have also found indications that she gave a drugged beverage to another man, causing him to lose consciousness, and are continuing their investigation.
