[Financial News] Marking the 30th anniversary of its founding, YG Entertainment has unveiled its 2026 roadmap, including BigBang’s return to activity and comebacks by Babymonster and Treasure.
On the 4th, YG Entertainment posted an article titled "2026 YG Plan | YG Announcement" on its official blog. For the first time in about six months since last August, executive producer Yang Hyun-suk sat down for an interview and personally shared YG’s major plans for this year.
BigBang had already drawn intense attention from global music fans after hinting at a return to activity to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut this year. Yang Hyun-suk stated, "We have agreed with the BigBang members to hold a concert." He added, "Because they have worked together for such a long time, I don’t expect any major difficulties," and continued, "All of the YG staff will do their utmost to create a perfect and outstanding show."
Babymonster and Treasure will also be highly active. Babymonster is first set to release a mini album in May, followed by their second full-length album this fall. Yang explained, "The title track of the mini album is 'CHOOM.' The Korean word for dance, written as 'chum,' looks incredibly cool as a font. It has an oriental vibe, and it feels like a person stretching out their arms and dancing." He also revealed that starting in June, the group plans to embark on a larger-scale second world tour that will extend to South America, Europe, and Oceania.
Treasure will open the second chapter of their activities in earnest with a mini album scheduled for release in June. Yang recalled, "The members suddenly came to me and said they wanted to do hip-hop, which really surprised me." He went on, "As they wished, when you listen to this album, you’ll probably be surprised that Treasure can do this kind of music too. You can look forward to cool, very YG-style music that we’ve never shown before."
Finally, executive producer Yang Hyun-suk said, "YG marks its 30th anniversary this year. Rather than sharing any special sentiment, I want to say that we will keep our original intentions and continue working hard on music here for the next 40 and 50 years as well."
Meanwhile, the outlines of YG’s new groups, which were hinted at last year, have become clearer. Through captions, YG explained, "We are preparing a new boy group with the goal of debuting in the fall," and, "Following Evelli and Chanya, we will soon reveal the remaining two members of the four-member girl group Next Monster (working title)."
