According to The Financial News, Danielle, who was removed from the group NewJeans, drew attention when she was spotted in Japan on March 1st Independence Movement Day waving a Korean flag.
On March 1, a video was posted on an X (formerly Twitter) account believed to belong to a fan of Danielle. The clip shows Danielle in Tokyo wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses while waving a Korean flag.
That day, Danielle reportedly went to the Tokyo Marathon to cheer on singer Sean, who leads the running crew Unknown Crew.
Danielle is a member of Unknown Crew and has recently been active with the group, joining Sean for early-morning runs and taking part in marathons.
Meanwhile, NewJeans' agency ADOR (All Doors One Room) terminated its exclusive contract with Danielle on December 29 last year.
ADOR has filed a lawsuit seeking 43.1 billion won in penalties and damages against Danielle, her family, and former ADOR chief executive Min Hee-jin, holding them responsible for her departure from NewJeans and the delay in the group’s return.
After leaving the group, Danielle wrote on social media, "I fought until the end so I could stay with the members," adding, "NewJeans will always have a place in my heart. This is not the end but the beginning."
She continued, "Over this period, I have learned a lot and there was a lot I had to protect," and said, "Many things are still being sorted out right now. When the time comes, I will update you on the lawsuits and the matters you are curious about."
