President Lee Arrives in Singapore: "The Cabinet Is Fully Prepared, So the Public Can Rest Assured"

\r [The Financial News, Republic of Singapore = Reporter Choi Jong-geun]South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, currently on a state visit to the Republic of Singapore, addressed growing uncertainty in the Middle East on the 1st, following attacks by the United States of America (US) and Israel on the Islamic Republic of Iran (Iran) that resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He stated, "The international situation is unstable, but the people of our nation do not need to worry at all."
President Lee delivered this message on X (formerly Twitter) after arriving at Singapore Changi Airport earlier that day.
President Lee wrote, "My fellow citizens, I have arrived in Singapore. The international situation is unstable, but you do not need to worry at all," adding, "In every sector, including the real economy, finance, and national security, the cabinet, led by Prime Minister Kim Min-seok, is thoroughly prepared."
He continued, "The Office of the President of South Korea, with Chief of Staff Kang Hoon-sik and all senior secretaries, is also maintaining an emergency posture and preparing for every possible contingency that might arise."
President Lee said, "We, the people of the Republic of Korea, have even overcome civil war," and went on, "Now we have a Government of the People, created by those great people of the Republic of Korea. I ask all of you to feel at ease, enjoy your daily lives, and devote yourselves even more to your work and livelihoods."
After arriving in the Republic of Singapore on this day, President Lee is scheduled on the 2nd to hold a summit and a friendship luncheon with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. He will also meet separately with Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and attend an official state banquet, among other formal events. In addition, he will take part in the jointly hosted "AI Connect Summit."
Afterward, from the 3rd to the 4th, President Lee will visit Manila in the Republic of the Philippines, where he plans to hold a summit meeting and attend a state banquet with Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr.
