According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, about 60 South Koreans are currently in Iran and around 600 are in Israel. The ministry stated, "From immediately after the incident occurred yesterday, headquarters and our missions across the Middle East have been in constant real-time communication to assess the local situation and verify the safety of our nationals." It added that a joint situation review meeting between headquarters and overseas missions is being held under the chairmanship of the Second Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs to examine safety measures for Korean residents.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said it is closely monitoring airspace closures and flight operations in countries neighboring Iran and Israel, and will continue to provide necessary consular assistance.
