[The Financial News] The Bank of Korea (BOK) is closely watching the impact of airstrikes by the United States and Israel on Iran and has begun preparing possible responses for financial markets.
According to the BOK on the 1st, Governor Rhee Chang-yong convened an emergency meeting on the situation on the previous evening to review conditions and discuss response measures under various scenarios for how events might unfold. He also ordered the launch of a 24-hour monitoring system to ensure swift action in the event of heightened market volatility.
In line with this, the BOK has set up a "Middle East Crisis Situation Assessment Task Force (TF)" to closely track developments in domestic and global financial markets and plans to take timely measures if necessary.
