Blackpink’s Rosé wins first-ever Brit Award for a K-pop act with “APT.”

Rosé of Blackpink has captured a trophy at the Brit Awards, becoming the first K-pop artist to do so, with her hit single “APT.” (APT.), a collaboration with pop star Bruno Mars.
At the 46th Brit Awards held on the 28th (local time) in Manchester, United Kingdom, Rosé was announced as the winner of the International Song of the Year award.
The awards organizers described “APT.” as a pop track with "explosive energy and an irresistibly catchy sing-along chorus that has captivated audiences around the world." They added that it has topped charts in multiple countries and "secured its place as one of the defining songs of the year."
Taking the stage, Rosé said, "It is such a great honor to receive this award in front of so many talented and respected musicians from the UK," expressing her emotion. She went on, "This is an award I share with Bruno. Thank you for always being my greatest mentor and my best friend."
Rosé also thanked executives and staff from Atlantic Records, a global distribution and label partner under Warner Music Group (WMG), calling them out one by one. "Thank you for always believing in me and supporting me," she stated.
She then turned her gratitude to her Blackpink bandmates Jennie of Blackpink, Jisoo of Blackpink, and Lisa of Blackpink, saying, "Thank you for always inspiring me, and I love you." She also mentioned producer Teddy Park of her Korean agency The Black Label in Korean as "Teddy oppa," adding, "I love you so much."
Rosé’s win is especially significant as it marks the first time a K-pop artist has asserted such a strong presence at the Brit Awards, the most prestigious ceremony in the British pop music industry.
