Dong Wha Pharmaceutical announced on the 27th that CEO Yoo Junha received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare at the 70th regular general meeting of the Korea Pharmaceutical Traders Association. The award recognizes his contribution to promoting exports in the domestic pharmaceutical industry by expanding the company’s overseas business.
Yoo joined the marketing department of Dong Wha Pharmaceutical in 1989 and has since worked across key divisions, including sales, human resources, and general affairs. Over roughly 30 years, he has built extensive hands-on experience and management expertise across the pharmaceutical industry.
A major achievement cited was the company’s overseas business performance. By focusing on exports of active pharmaceutical ingredients, over-the-counter medicines, health and beauty products, and food items, Dong Wha Pharmaceutical recorded cumulative exports of about 14.7 million dollars over the three years from 2022 to 2024.
In addition, Curip Ointment, launched in 2024 as the only lip inflammation treatment available in Korea, has established itself as a must-buy medicine for foreign tourists. Last year, the company also successfully introduced its magnesium health supplement MgLAB to the Japanese market, expanding its local offline distribution network.
Yoo stated, "This commendation is not an individual achievement, but the result of the collective efforts of all employees at Dong Wha Pharmaceutical." He added, "As Korea’s oldest pharmaceutical company, Dong Wha Pharmaceutical will continue to do its utmost, as a leading player in the domestic pharmaceutical industry, to promote high-quality Korean medicines around the world."
