[Financial News] Bitcoin climbed to around $68,000 on the 26th. The rebound is seen as a sign of improving investor sentiment after USD Coin (USDC) issuer Circle reported strong earnings.
According to global crypto data platform CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin was trading around $68,000 as of 10:10 a.m. that day, up 6.41% over the previous 24 hours. Over the past week, Bitcoin has risen about 3%.
In the Korean won market, Bitcoin is trading around 98 million won. Based on data from global crypto market comparison platform Cryprice, the so‐called Korea premium stands at 1.4%.
Circle’s solid results appear to be spreading optimism across the broader crypto market. Circle announced that its fourth-quarter revenue last year reached $770 million, a 77% increase from a year earlier and above the market consensus of $744 million. The improvement was driven by a 72% year-on-year jump in USDC circulation to $75.3 billion. On this news, Circle closed at $83.15 on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on the 25th (local time), up $21.77, or 35.47%, from the previous session.
Market participants believe the fate of the crypto market will hinge on whether the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act of 2025 (the "Clarity Act") is passed. The Clarity Act is currently pending in the United States Senate. Hong Jin-hyun, a researcher at Samsung Securities, said, "The market is focused on the Clarity Act and discussions on institutionalizing stablecoins, which are acting as the only catalyst for a short-term rebound," adding, "If these related bills produce visible results, there is a possibility of a rebound driven by short covering and the inflow of sidelined capital."
The Crypto Fear and Greed Index provided by CoinMarketCap stood at 16 that day, indicating "extreme fear," but up from 11 the previous day. The index ranges from 0 to 100, with values near 0 interpreted as "extreme fear" and those near 100 as "extreme greed."
At the same time, Ethereum was trading around $2,061, up 10.51% from the previous day. Ripple (XRP) was changing hands around $1.43, a gain of 6.36%.
