[The Financial News] A Porsche that was driving across Banpo Bridge in Seoul plunged onto the riverbank of the Hangang River (Han River), and the driver has been arrested by police on suspicion of drug use.
According to police on the 26th, Yongsan Police Station in Seoul urgently arrested a woman in her 30s, identified only as A, the driver of the Porsche, on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Act and driving under the influence of drugs under the Road Traffic Act.
At around 8:44 p.m. the previous day, A was driving a black Porsche across Banpo Bridge when the car broke through the guardrail and fell onto the riverbank of the Hangang River near Jamsu Bridge. She suffered bruises and was taken to a hospital. A man in his 40s driving a Mercedes-Benz, whose vehicle was struck by the falling Porsche during the plunge, also sustained minor injuries and received treatment.
Inside A's vehicle, police found numerous empty Propofol vials, disposable syringes filled with drugs, and medical tubing.
Police plan to question A after she completes treatment at the hospital to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and the source of the drugs, and will then consider whether to seek an arrest warrant.
