At Galaxy Unpacked 2026 in San Francisco on the 25th (local time), Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Buds 4 series (Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds4 Pro), which can be controlled with simple head movements and deliver its best-ever hi-fi sound. Nodding your head answers a call, while shaking it side to side rejects the call, allowing users to operate the device without using their hands.
The newly designed premium metal blade lets users easily control volume and media with a swipe of a finger. The product is also the first to adopt a bezel-less woofer, which enlarges the vibrating surface of the speaker while slimming down the edges. According to Samsung, this expands the effective speaker area by about 20%, delivering more powerful bass and a deeper sense of immersion.
A dedicated tweeter for high frequencies precisely reproduces treble, while working together with the woofer to produce rich bass and clear highs. This combination is designed to provide hi-fi sound that stays faithful to the original recording.
The Galaxy Buds 4 series drew attention with Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (Adaptive ANC), which offers a personalized listening experience. The Pro model features enhanced Adaptive ANC that analyzes how the earbuds are worn in real time and then delivers optimal noise-blocking performance.
For high-quality calls, the Super Clear Call feature uses a finely trained machine-learning model to distinguish the user’s voice patterns from surrounding noise and filter out unwanted sounds.
The earbuds also support more convenient Galaxy AI features through seamless connection with other Galaxy devices. While wearing the Buds, users can launch AI agents such as Bixby and Google Gemini simply with voice commands.
The Galaxy Buds 4 series newly introduces a Head Gesture feature, which lets users answer calls or control Bixby just by moving their head. Even when both hands are occupied, such as while cooking or working out, users can accept a call by nodding or reject it by shaking their head.
Sales will begin at midnight on the 27th, with the official launch in Korea scheduled for the 11th of next month.
Cho Ik-hyun, executive director at the Mobile eXperience (MX) Business of Samsung Electronics, said, "With high-quality sound and personalized features, it will be the optimal choice that fits a wide range of lifestyles."
